A landing on comet's nucleus!

    What is a Comet?
    A comet is an icy small solar system body that, when passing close to the Sun, heats up and begins to out-gas, displaying a visible atmosphere or coma, and sometimes also a tail.

Philae is a robotic European Space Agency Lander.
On 12th November 2014, the lander achieved the first ever controlled touchdown on a comet nucleus.
It’s instruments are expected to obtain the first images from comet’s surface.

It’s Missions:

Philae’s mission is to land successfully on the surface of a comet, attach itself, and transmit data from the surface about the comet's composition.
